The new content-based e-commerce website now provides comprehensive information on all aspects of the company’s thousands of spare parts, tools and equipment for the digital wide format community. Now when a customer buys a printhead for example, he can call up all aspects of that product including user guide, maintenance, mechanical drawings, related products and reviews all in one place. The new website is based on the latest Magento platform, the technology of choice used by all the world’s most professional e-commerce websites and has been integrated with Drupal, an equally sophisticated content management system that is also used by the White House. The site was designed from scratch, and the starting point for this was data held in thousands of job ticketed questions that had been logged on the old web-based hotline system.
