In Season 2, we’re ‘reviving’ a dysfunctional wide format printer: over six sessions we will visit and treat all vital parts to make it a functional, pro-ductive machine again. This new series is written and delivered by our wide format in-house engineers and wide format printing experts.

TOPIC: Introductory session printer evaluation
You will be introduced to the ‘dysfunctional’ printer we have purchased and you will evaluate what areas need overhauling. You will begin to un-derstand the knock on effects of what faulty, and ill-maintained parts will mean to your productivity and profitability.

TOPIC: KEEP YOUR PRINTER MOVING PARTS MOVING
There’s plenty going on inside your printer. All this activity is controlled by your machine’s motion system. In this session, we will learn why your moving parts need to keep moving, and understand how to replace them when all else fails.
LESSON 3: Date 18/05/2017 (Europe/USA) and 23/05/2017 (Italian/Spanish)
TOPIC: LET YOUR INK FLOW
Printer ink pumps are the beating hearts of your printer; they keep the ink circulating. Here you’ll learn what parts are needed to keep ink flowing and how to maintain them. You will understand different pump types as well as looking at related processes such as wiper and capping stations.
LESSON 4: Date 08/06/2017 (Europe/USA) and 13/06/2017 (Italian/Spanish)
TOPIC: REVEALING PRINTHEAD SECRETS
Printers are only as effective as their printheads. During this session stu-dents will learn everything there is to know about printhead replacement. They will be taught how to carry out this operation with confidence, from preliminary steps right through to alignment.

TOPIC: NOZZLE INVESTIGATION
Blocked nozzles lose time and money. This session will help you to read and analyse nozzle tests, and then provide you with the practical skills to put these right.
